Maternal and child characteristics correlated with frequency of consuming ultra-processed food by children aged 6 to 24 months old

Abstract Objectives: to verify the correlation between consumption of ultra-processed food among mothers and children under two years age main characteristics related this consumption. Methods: cross-sectional study conducted in public health services. Three 24-hour recalls were applied assess intake. The was grouped into: sugary drinks; meat; sauces creams; dairy products; snacks; pastas; mucilage. Themother’s body mass index waist/hip ratio, child’s weight/height, height/age, weight/age index/age calculated. children’s ultra-process frequency as correlated with: anthropometric dyadic variables; on breastfeeding. average intake compared pacifier, bottle, breastfeeding socioeconomic status. Linear regression models conducted. Results: 172 pairs evaluated. Similarity found products. higher products with older child mass/age index. Of 39 present mothers’ diet, 22 Conclusion: by is similar their correlates z-score values
